Curriculum & Assessments

Interactive English Curriculum:

The Intercambio 12-book (6-level) curriculum series offers many benefits:

  • It is user friendly, with each book broken down into sixteen 90-minute lessons.
  • Teacher guides explain how to facilitate all lessons and outline the materials needed.
  • Books can be used for one-on-one or group situations.
  • Lessons focus on life skills relevant to immigrants from any ethnic group in the U.S.
  • The series was developed using updated methodology for teaching ESOL and the activities are highly interactive.
  • Each teacher book includes easy-to-use assessments/tests to determine level advancement.

Student books are $12 each. Teacher books are $15 each. Our new series, which you can see a sample of below, will begin being printed in January 2012. Student books for the new series will cost between $8-$10 depending on quantity ordered, and teacher books will cost $20-$25. We are still finalizing the cost structure.

Any book purchase allows you to also receive our easy-to-use oral and written placement tests to determine student levels.

"In addition to our wonderful volunteers, the Intercambio materials we currently use for Language Partners have made the program what it is today. The Intercambio materials have taken the guess work out of teaching the class especially for those people who are eager to help, but do not know the first thing about teaching, or if you have taught for a long time and just need a fresh start."

Alejandra Harguth, Immigrant Resources Center Supervisor - City of Littleton, Immigrant Resources Center

"The Intercambio curriculum is working GREAT! My students are really enjoying it, and as an educator for 25 years I must say the course is awesome, because it focuses on the words, numbers, etc. that they often confuse."
